Michael Vick of the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles and Tiger Woods are among the list of America's most "disliked" athletes, according to Tom Van Riper of Forbes.
Vick, the QB jailed on dog fighting charges, and Woods, the golf superstar still recovering from the scandal over his extramarital affairs, tied for first in the survey conducted by Nielsen and E-Poll Market Research.
Both have a "dislike" score of 60%. But Forbes gives the crown to Vick in its athlete-by-athlete photo gallery since Woods draws fewer "dislike a lot" responses.
Coming in third is New York Jets wide receiver Plaxico Burress, who served a prison term for gun charges for shooting himself in the leg with an unlicensed handgun. He scored 56%.
To illustrate how quickly perceptions change, Ndamukong Suh of the NFL's Detroit Lions jumped up to 51% dislike score after TV viewers saw him stomp the arm of a Green Bay Packers player during a nationally televised Thanksgiving game. Suh was seen in a previous poll as one of the NFL's most "likable" players.
Fresh off his short-lived marriage to Kim Kardashian, Kris Humphries of the NBA's New Jersey Nets comes in at 50%. LeBron James' disastrous decision to publicly announce joining the NBA's Miami Heat from his home state Cleveland Cavaliers is the gift that keeps giving to this negative poll numbers. He's at 48%.
Kobe Bryant of the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers and the NFL's Terrell Owens, who didn't have a team this season, are tied at 45%. Alex Rodriguez of Major League Baseball's New York Yankees is just tick behind them at 44%. Rounding out the Top 10 is NASCAR bad boy Kurt Busch at 42%.
Candidates were limited to those scoring at least 10% awareness with the public.In previous league-specific polls, Vick and Humphries were named the most disliked players in the NFL and NBA.
